Implementing Visible Privacy with WooCommerce
Visible Privacy offers a comprehensive solution for managing cookie consent on WooCommerce stores. This guide will walk you through the process of installing and configuring the Visible Privacy plugin for WooCommerce.
Prerequisites
Before beginning, ensure you have:
- An active WooCommerce store (with WordPress installed).
- Administrator access to your WordPress dashboard.
- Your Visible Privacy Client ID (available from your Visible Privacy account).
Installing the Visible Privacy Plugin
Download the Plugin
Download the latest Visible Privacy plugin ZIP file from here.
Install the Plugin
In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New. Click Upload Plugin at the top. Select the downloaded ZIP file and click Install Now. Once installed, click Activate Plugin.
Configure the Plugin
After activation, go to Settings > Visible Privacy (or find the Visible Privacy menu in your dashboard sidebar). Enter your Client ID from your Visible Privacy account. It will have a format like XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX. Save your changes.
Use the Visible Privacy Playboard to adjust any additional settings for the consent banner appearance and behavior as desired.
After configuring the plugin, clear your site cache (if applicable) and test the consent banner and script blocking on your store.
